My artwork is a journey of discovery and rediscovery, it is about places I have been to things seen and people I have known throughout my life. I am particularly interested in landscape and wildlife constantly trawling my memory to recapture the mood and feel of places that have a special resonance for me. I am interested in how climate and the progressive seasonal change determine the evolving atmosphere of the landscape and my own ancestral connections to it. I am also interested in exploring my own family and cultural origins, my place in the landscape and how I feel about it, as the seasons and days unfold. My artwork seeks to express these evolving moods and feelings and I have no fixed position on the direction this exploration may take.

David was inspired by the fires on the moors in the period of drought in the past few years to produce exciting artworks based on fire.
