Media: Variety of media - watercolour, acrylic, mixed media
After graduating from Art College, I travelled to East Africa, where, whilst raising a family, I began illustrating and teaching.
Now living in Cheshire, I have, for the past 30 years been a practising Artist and Art tutor. I love the reward and challenge of motivating others with Art courses, Workshops and Demonstrations.
A number of subjects can inspire me , including the figure and flowers. I enjoy travelling , exploring new places and sketching on site. I then use certain studies to develop into paintings in whatever medium seems appropriate. I aim to capture the specific nature ,energy or atmosphere of my chosen subject. I am happy using any medium, but mainly work in watercolour and mixed media. Very often, the image spills over to the mount, inviting the viewer to be more closely involved with the painting.
I am a member of Cheshire Artists Network, Outline Art and Altrincham Soc of Art. My studio is open to the public. My work has been exhibited
extensively in Britain and abroad and has gained many awards. Work has featured in several Art books and publications.
