Media or specialism: Linocut Printmaking, Monoprinting, Watercolour, Collage
I began to specialise in reduction linocut in 2009 and was taught the method by the celebrated Eric Gaskell, however, in terms of design, composition, colour mixing, etc., I am self-taught.
I am interested in pattern, colour and mark making and find domestic and wild animals and birds offer plenty of scope for the challenges of depicting fur, hair, feather and wool when gouging linocuts; although I also create work that is not animal centred.
I belong to three professional art societies and have won a number of prizes in Open exhibitions in the last few years. I work from my home studio.
Other work includes monoprints using drypoint, gelli plate and other printmaking methods and collages created from the monoprinting surface patterns. I am also a keen watercolourist aiming to capture landscapes in a variety of climates.
